Initial License Class Incentive
What, if any, incentive (bonus, OT, etc.) does your unit offer to non licensed operators to attend RO class?
RO candidates now approved for a minimum of 5 hours per week overtime, except for during on-shift OJT. Also receive bonuses for the following milestones:
GFES - $1000
Systems Comp - $1500
Final Simulator Exam - $2000
Audit Exam - $2000
At Sequoyah, a non licensed operator's base pay is raised ~10% when they enter license training. In addition, effective 12/6/07,each Nuclear Unit Operator trainee will receive one-time lump sum payments for successful completion of three stages of training. Successful being a passing score on the final exam for each stage of training. The amounts are:
GFES $2000 Systems training $4000 TVA audit exam $5000

Thanks for the update.
At Clinton NLO's are payed RO wages while in class. There is no OT built into the program for studying.
Turnover time is paid when standing UI watches. However the program only requires a limited number of watches.
Successful candidates have had to fight for the RO bonus after getting their license.
I do not know the ILT incentives for the rest of the Exelon fleet .
I am trying to find out industry wide, what the pay while in class, and if any, are there bonuses or study time being paid while in the class? I am glad to see that this forum was already open!! If you reply, could you please post the Non licensed pay for your station also including what they make roughly on average with overtime. Thanks!!!!
If anyone was wondering NLOs on shift all make ~$100,000 a year with a base pay of $65,785. The RO upgrades make $72,365. Mr. Smith already posted the bonuses offered.

There is no bonus, no built in OT. The hourly rate for an RO in training is a little higher than top NLO pay but an NLO on shift will still easily earn more on shift than in license school.

Non licensed operators are required to go to license school by the collective bargaining agreement. There is no bonus, no built in OT. The hourly rate for an RO in training is a little higher than top NLO pay but an NLO on shift will still easily earn more on shift than in license school.
Correction - $450/month. $350 /month is paid while in school and $100/month is withheld and paid when RO license is issued
